The CORE Advanced course is run over a full day. NZRC CORE Advanced will meet all requirements for medical personnel and is required for GP Fellowship. NZRC CORE Advanced is the current standard for Dentists performing oral or intravenous sedation (excluding Relative Analgesia).

Description

NZRC CORE Advanced has now replaced CORE Levels 5, 6 & 7.

The New Zealand Resuscitation Council, through its instructors, delivers CORE (Certificate of Resuscitation and Emergency Care). The course content meets the needs of a wide range of health care professionals.

The CORE Advanced course is run over a full day.

NZRC CORE Advanced will meet all requirements for medical personnel and is required for GP Fellowship.

NZRC CORE Advanced is the current standard for Dentists performing oral or intravenous sedation (excluding Relative Analgesia)

NZRC CORE Advanced is also designed for Paramedics and Registered Nurses working in areas such as Intensive Care, Coronary Care and Emergency Departments.

The NZRC have released a new CORE resource - Resuscitation: A Guide for Advanced Rescuers (1st Ed.) This replaces the NZRC Advanced Resuscitation Manual (2012) used to prepare for both the course, ECG test and quiz.

This can be hired from Emcare. Alternatively, you can purchase a new manual from the New Zealand Resuscitation Council here.

A minimum of 3 weeks is recommended for pre-reading and study of the course manual.

Supplementary electronic pre-reading will also be supplied by Emcare.

This IV course will outline the procedure for inserting peripheral intravenous cannula (PIVC) and consider the various issues that are associated with it. The material presented on PIVC is focused on the adult population and phlebotomy will not be taught on this course. Total time investment for this course is 7 hours, comprised of 4 hours self directed learning utilising a workbook (with an online test to be completed) and 3 hours of hands-on simulation with an Emcare instructor.
