ACLS6 for RNZCP 1hr online 5 hrs practical
Description
This course is intended as a 6 hour course. 1hr online and 5hrs in class covering the basics of Advanced Cardiac Life Support. The course curriculum assumes that you know and understand Basic Life Support and that you have professional training in a health care related profession such as medicine or nursing. It is specifically tailored to meet the needs of both community-based and hospital-based health professionals.
To meet ACC requirements for A&M practices, an online MCQ and ECG test must be completed prior to the course date.
This course covers the following topics:
• Basic Life Support for Health Professionals (includes infant, child and adult resuscitation)
• Patient Assessment
• Advanced Airway Management assessed to Laryngeal Mask Airway level
• Pharmacology in Resuscitation
• Role of early defibrillation
• AED & Manual defibrillation
• Resuscitation Scene Management & Algorithms
• ECG Recognition of shockable and non-shockable rhythms
• Management of Anaphylaxis
• Scenario training
This course has been endorsed by the RNZCGP for 6 hours = 8 credits. This course also meets the compulsory resuscitation skills RNZCGP MOPS and GPEP2. Successful participants are issued a certificate of participation to New Zealand Resuscitation Council Standards Level 6.
